Admiralty House is the official Sydney residence of the Governor-General of Australia. This imposing building, which dates back to 1843, has a breathtaking view of the harbor, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. It is located next to Kirribilli House, which is the Sydney residence of the Australian Prime Minister. Its current name - Admiralty House - comes from the fact that it served as the residence of the Commander-in-Chief of the Australian Royal Navy Squadron from 1885 to 1913. Since 2004, it is on the Commonwealth Heritage List.
