Zoo home to species endemic to Australia and beyond, including kangaroos, koalas, dingoes and more.

Taronga Zoo is home to species endemic to Australia and beyond. On the Nura Diya Australia walking trail, you can observe kangaroos, koalas, dingoes and various nocturnal Australian species. In addition to the self-guided tour, the zoo also offers the Wild Australia Experience, a guided tour led by a zoo keeper that takes you behind the scenes of the zoo and some of its residents, and the Aussie Backyard Adventure, another guided tour that takes you through the areas reserved for Australian animals.

Second time at Taronga Zoo. Unfortunately this time it was lashing rain so no beautiful views. But the zoo was still great. The animals all looked happy and had good homes. It is easy to get around, although very hilly.

We spent most of the day here walking around and visiting the exhibits. We did the Koala and Penguins Experience and it was well worth it. Although you can't touch or hold the koalas we were right next to two. The Penguins Experience was amazing! We were able to hand feed the Penguins! Staff was friendly, informative, and gave great instructions on how to properly feed the little guys. I even had several Penguins stand on my shoes while they were fed. Would definitely do it again!

What could one possibly say bad about this zoo? It’s an amazing place to see of rid of animals from not just Australia, but other parts of Asia.
