Originally built in 1834 by the former plaster William Wells to be his residence, the Lord Nelson obtained his liquor license in 1841, a year before Sydney was proclaimed "city". It is one of the oldest pubs in Sydney, probably the oldest in active activity. In addition to the pub, a catering service and rooms are available.
