Private island under close surveillance with a tiny church in Nidri
Although two beaches are theoretically authorized for swimming, this private islet, formerly owned by the Onassis, remains under close surveillance. Also owner of the islet of Sparti, the billionaire docked in Skorpios with his yacht Christina to welcome his friends Maria Callas, Greta Garbo or the Kennedy family. The tiny church was the setting for her marriage to Jacqueline Kennedy. The wealthy shipowner is buried there, right next to his children, Alexander and Christina. L'île étant actuellement la propriété privée de la fille de l'homme d'affaires russe Dmitry Rybolovlev, l'accès y est assez restreint. La "plage" qui est ouverte aux touristes n'est qu'une bande de sable coincée entre la mer, les rochers et les arbres et ne représente aucun intérêt. Vous pouvez voir Skorpios depuis la mer et apprendre son histoire avec l'un des nombreux bateaux de croisière qui circulent entre les îles Ioniennes, mais ce n'est certainement pas le point le plus intéressant de leurs programmes.
