NYMPH CAVE

Although higher and further from the port than Homer seems to indicate, it fits the description of this "dark and charming cave" where Ulysses, the hero of The Odyssey , is said to have hidden the gifts given by the Pheacians. The Cave of the Nymphs has two entrances: one is located at the foot of the hill, near the beach, and is no longer accessible. The asphalt road leads to the present entrance, where via a ladder and a ten-metre descent one can approach the Cave of the Nymphs, filled with stalactites.
