ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

You can visit the modest collection of Minoan and Mycenaean objects on display at the Archaeological Museum. The building that housed the archaeological museum was damaged by an earthquake. The exhibition contained funeral stelae, coins, vases, statues. Among the latter, that of Venus accompanied by Eros and the Lion of Kythera. But because of the fragility of the place and its random schedules, most of the objects found at the excavations that took place on the island are in the repositories of the Piraeus Archaeological Museum.
