The place is famous for its breakfast: try the very good homemade pougia , the typical filled breads of Astypalaia. You can also order an espresso or a cappuccino freddo worthy of the name. Finally, the desserts and sweets are outstanding, perfect for a snack. This is one of the few places that remains open all year round.

This café-ouzerie is located halfway between the port of Pera Gialos and the heights of Chora, next to a pharmacy. All the local youth flock there in the evening to share some delicious mezzedes and something to quench their thirst, often with a lot of raki or ouzo. Try marinated mushrooms or succulent courgette fritters. Live music and rebetiko are organized regularly and sometimes dance takes over. A meeting place for yachting crews, it has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. People come here for breakfast or for cakes during the day (special mention for the cheesecakes), to be accompanied by a proper freddo in the harbour.
