Created in 2000, I Axiotissa ("La Naxiote") seeks healthy products from its vegetable garden or local producers to create an authentic and refined cuisine. You will find all the star foods of the island: the Naxos potato, the xynomizithra (local fresh cheese) served with the traditional Cretan dakos, the tender lamb and, even more typical, the roasted pork tongue with tomato, honey and spices (aperathitiko). Fish and meat are prepared in the traditional way, wrapped in parchment paper and fried.
