ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM OF KOZANI
A museum to learn more about the history of Kozani.
Created in 1987, this museum traces the history of Kozani from prehistory to the present day. A very good illustration of Greek life in the Balkans throughout history, and an opportunity to review your basic knowledge of natural history. From the entrance hall, a very beautiful reconstruction of life in Kozani, in the pre-industrial period, with an animated model that makes children happy. In the basement, we gradually discover the history of the region's animal and geological life, from prehistory to the present day, with various fossils and geological pieces, reconstruction of a cave, animal displays....
Level 1: Costumes and photos recount the history of Kozani.
Level 2: presentation of the rest of Kozani's story with objects from the Balkan wars.
Level 3: The themes of agriculture and harvesting are very well presented.
On level 4: we can see one of the museum's nails, the reconstruction of a street with a photographer, a jeweller, a shoemaker, a bell maker, hooks, leather, blacksmith, a barber, a gunsmith, a postman, a cooper, a saddle maker, a hat maker and a potter. In short, all the professions of the time. It's very interesting.
Level 5: presentation of the village's traditional costumes, with very rare pieces.
Level 6: reconstruction of the interior of a church and various living rooms, with a loom.
