Monastery dedicated to St. Nicholas, with a library containing the only handwritten copy of the , in Aghios Oros.
Dedicated to Saint Nicholas, this monastery was built in the 14th century, probably by Gregorios of Sinai. In 1740, a monk named Akarnanas began the construction of the catholicon and, in 1761, the restoration of the main building following a fire. The wall paintings are the work of two painters from Kastoria, Gabriel and Gregorios. Among the treasures are an icon of Saint Nicholas and two icons of the Virgin Mary. The library houses the only manuscript copy of the Shepherd of Hermas, a prophetic work from the 1st or 2nd century AD.
