OLYNTHE

A major political centre in the ^5th and 4th centuries BC, the ancient city of Olynthe has preserved its Hippodamian plan of dwellings and especially wonderful mosaics inherited from the classical period. Well preserved, the layout of its streets remains today as one of the best examples of ancient urban planning in the Mediterranean. Be careful, although only a tenth of this immense site has been discovered since 1914, the remains extend over no less than 3 ha.
