Orthodox Basilica with Byzantine architecture with mosaics and a fresco representing martyrs.

One of the most beautiful 5th century Orthodox basilicas in Thessaloniki. This church is one of the most beautiful examples of Byzantine architecture. The columns framing the central nave are monolithic and surmounted by Corinthian capitals with acanthus leaves. In the south nave is preserved an important 13th century fresco representing the forty martyrs. Everywhere are also preserved magnificent mosaics decorated with animal and plant motifs.
