Since we're in Thessaloniki, so close to Istanbul, let's live in Anatolian time and enjoy some Oriental pastries (syrupy, nut-coated cakes, bougasta, halva, etc.) like you won't find anywhere else. You'll never see so many people sitting in a patisserie at 11pm, and with good reason: Chatzis has been one of the city's gourmet institutions for over 100 years. In fact, there are other addresses scattered around the city. Worth a try! Our preference is for ekmaik kataifi.

I confirm, it is absolutely wonderful for lovers of the genre: a real oriental palace delights. There are even specialities milk buffalo and sublime cold chocolates. All their pastries are excellent, an address not to be missed!
