Castle built on ruins also called Acropolis offering a view on the gulf.
You will reach it at the end of Aghios Nikolaos street, by taking the stairs. Also known as the Acropolis because it is built on its ruins, its setting is used for cultural events that take place in summer. This castle was built by Justinian in 551 AD to protect the city from invaders. However, it was successively taken by the Franks, the Venetians, the Palaeologists and the Turks, who sometimes used it as an administrative and military centre. The steep climb to the top is rewarded with a beautiful view of the Gulf.

Beau château
Entrée gratuite. Les ruines du château sont belles et permettent d'avoir une magnifique vue sur la ville.

Joli site (notamment la vue sur la ville). Accès assez difficile (pente et escaliers).
