This building welcomed the winners of the Games for a great banquet in their honour. It was also in this building that the sacred flame of Hestia was preserved. Destroyed at the end of the th century. It was reworked by the Romans, as remains of brick walls testify. Every year, in accordance with custom, the priests of the sanctuary raised the ashes of the sacred fire of Hestia and merged it into the water of the Alphée to make it a paste which they then enduisaient the altar of Zeus.
