Installed in the former municipal market, this recent museum houses a rich collection of objects unearthed in the region. Also known as Benaki, it effectively presents many remains from the Hellenistic period, mosaics from the Roman period, Frankish tableware, a Neolithic callipyge goddess... The first floor which presents objects from the Mycenaean period is very interesting. Note also the Hermaic stele (2nd-3rd c.) of the ancient Messène.
