The Kaltezon monastery was built in 1696 and resisted the Turkish occupation for several decades.

Take the road from Tripoli to Kalamata and turn right at Kato Aséa. After passing the village of Daphni-Maniati, we arrive on the Cheimarrou-Lagadas bridge. Turn right after the bridge, follow Lagadas and you will arrive at the monastery shortly after. An interesting curiosity: it was built in 1696 and has withstood the Turkish occupation for several decades. It was here that the Constitution was signed in May 1821 and the first meeting of the Pelponnesian Assembly of the Wise Men was held. The walk is really pretty, quiet.
