If the capital is not known for its green spaces (or clean air), it may be pleasant to run early in the morning, with the other joggers, around the panathenaic marble stadium. The site of the first modern Olympic Games offers some of the most spectacular views of the city. Accessible only from the back through a door on Archimidous Street, it is open to the public, as long as you stay away from the field. In the morning, it's quite magical.
