FORTIFICATIONS

The work of the strong square is the work of Colonel Gosseau of Heneff. They were erected at the beginning of the th century. The Étoile-hongrois fortress was designed to protect the old town, while the population was moved to the high town. But in 1922, the walls of the city were dismantled even though beautiful remains are still preserved and allow for an idea of the system of original ramparts. Indeed, there remains the front bastion and the door of water overlooking the Drava, the only one of the four doors left, a piece of wall and part of the fortin located on the other shore.
