GLASS MOSQUE (SIRÇALI MEDRESE)

In this 13th century Koranic school, the science of Divine Law was taught (Fıkıh). The building owes its name to the earthenware that covers its exterior walls. Indeed, the blue earthenware patterns around its main door look like crystals sırça. The teaching was given in the vaulted porch (eyvan) which has beautiful glazed earthenware tiles and graceful calligraphy. It's been turned into a museum of funerary art.
