Its scenography highlights a complex period in the history of this region, torn between France and Germany from 1870 to the end of the Second World War. The 2-hour visit is like immersing yourself in history, with a wealth of images, posters, photos and other reconstructed settings, and an original sound system.

Located in Schirmeck, the Mémorial de l'Alsace - Moselle is a museum dedicated to the history of this region. A visit will plunge you into the daily life of the inhabitants of this border area between France and Germany, particularly during the Second World War. The memorial offers a variety of formulas: self-guided tours, themed guided tours, as well aseducational workshops adapted to the educational project and the level and age of pupils for school and extra-curricular groups. Whether you come on your own, with friends or family, you can rest assured that nothing in the exhibition will offend the sensibilities of the youngest visitors.Special offers are also available for adult groups throughout theyear. You can choose to visit the Memorial on your own or accompanied by an interpreter . In addition, themuseum offers a traveling exhibition catalog , which can be borrowed free of charge on request. The museum also includes a bookshop-boutique, a documentation center and a relaxation area .Rooms are available for corporate meetings and seminars. A must-see if you're visiting the region!

Die Ausstellung ist sehr liebevoll und wirklich gut verständlich mit kurzen Texten zur Erklärung gestaltet. 3-sprachig (F/D/E).
Ich habe noch kein vergleichbares Museum gesehen.
Texte, Bilder, Einbauten und Exponate führen den Besucher sehe kurzweilig durch die besondere Geschichte des Elsass und helfen, diese gut zu verstehen.
Beginnend 1871 und endend mit einer Vision der europäischen Zukunft - einfach grandios.
Auch die Hintergründe der Deutsch-Französischen Freundschaft werden erläutert.
Für meine 12- und 14-jährigen Söhne war der Besuch auch interessant, weil eben viel um die Texte und Bilder herum gestaltet ist.
