It is a very beautiful place, very strange that this stone artificially coloured in blue, which it is imperative to visit at the beginning or end of the day, because the midday sun erases its colours. It is a humane work of art and subject to contestation, especially from environmentalists. Apparently, on the Bedouin side, they liked it a lot. They don't complain about it, believing that blue chases away the evil eye. Subjected to erosion, it is a perishable work on which nature is gradually taking back its rights. It was commissioned by Sadat in 1978 to commemorate the Camp David agreements and directed by a Swiss, Jean Vérame.
