Old Omani style family house located just a few meters from Jaw's Corner, with a remarkable carved door.

Issa's house has been known for decades as the place where Ubuyu, a popular Zanzibar sweet made from the fruit of the baobab tree, is made. Just a few metres from Jaw's Corner is this old Omani-style family home, still open, with a striking carved door. Issa will be happy to explain the various stages of the process, as the candy is made right before your eyes. Feel free to leave with a small bag for a thousand shillings after the visit to taste the result.
