This is one of the best budget addresses, right in the center near Forodhani and the waterfront, offering appreciable comfort. Housed in an 18th-century house belonging to the Sultan's palace, it has the charm of Arab-Swahili architecture. Previously in foreign hands, the hotel is now owned by two local women, Salma from Zanzibar and Béatrice from mainland Tanzania, and the team is 100% local. The 12 rooms are charming, with ventilation or air-conditioning, and tastefully furnished. Breakfast on the hotel rooftop.

The staff is simply the nicest. They helped us with our requests and went above and beyond to help us and make our journey easy. I'm very impressed on how much nice and warm the staff is.
The hotel is modest but okay, the price for value is good and the location is central, you can reach all the tourist locations in Stone Town very easily by walk.
The hotel is not accessible by car, but the taxi can stop just by the corner and the drivers/staff will help you with the luggage.
