Youth hostel offering rooms with ultra-modern and impeccable bathrooms at competitive prices.

Stone Town House is an acceptable youth hostel in the center of Stone Town. Eight rooms only, double or triple rooms, a women's dormitory, a mixed dormitory, but plain wooden single beds with mosquito netting canopies, not bunk beds. Rooms are a little cramped and overlook a courtyard. So prefer the upper floors, closer to the rooftops. They are sober and charming, spotlessly clean and equipped with air-conditioning and attractive flooring. Prices are very competitive. However, we regret the lack of breakfast.

A hostel that gets all the important stuff right - clean, comfortable beds, plugs by the bed (with EU plugs!), good AC, shower with good pressure etc. Very tasty breakfast at the Stone Town Café as well, with the best coffee I’ve had in Tanzania.

But what really makes the place stand out is Simone - the human embodiment of “going above and beyond”. I was in Dar es Salaam for business and decided to hop over to Zanzibar for a weekend, without any real plans. Simone not only gave fantastic recommendations for how to spend the weekend, he even organised a scooter for me to rent and the Zanzibar driving permit. And all with a smile and great humour!

If I could give more stars, I would. The place is typically stylish and it is in a great central position. The rooms are clean and big, well organized and the beds are very comfortable. The personnel is great, in particular the manager Simon gave me great suggestions every time and helped a lot. Frankly grateful for this experience

Great location in the centre of town. The owner is a pleasant and helpful guy. He met us when we checked in and gave us a map of the city and some great tips about where to eat and what to see. Room was nice and had good A/C.
