Located in the town of Arusha, the Original Maasai Lodge offers a unique experience in the heart of African nature. It features 16 earthen houses, powered by solar energy, offering European comfort with hot-water toilets and showers. Every day, guests can enjoy the sunrise behind Kilimanjaro from their terrace. The restaurant serves international and traditional Swahili dishes, prepared with herbs grown on site. Free activities such as spear-throwing, dances, nature walks and fireside chats allow guests to interact with the Maasai people. For relaxation, there's a rest area, massage room, swimming pool and sauna. The hotel also offers activities such as concerts, cultural tours and horseback riding. The Original Maasai Lodge is a place charged with energy, built on land once considered uninhabitable. It offers a unique opportunity to discover Tanzania at close quarters with the Maasai people.

Wunderbarere Aufenthalt mit eindrücklichen Erlebnissen und vielen tollen Gesprächen! Die Leute heissen einem vom ersten Moment an willkommen und man wird mit offenem Herzen empfangen! Sehr empfehlenswert!!!

Cette immersion avec les Masaï est notre coup de cœur du voyage en Tanzanie. La visite de l’école avec Petro, la leçon pour tirer de la lance et la danse au coucher du soleil avec Rose sont gravés dans notre cœur. Une mention spéciale à notre guide Petro Laizer avec son accueil chaleureux et ses explications généreuses sur leur mode de vie.

Nous avons passé notre première journée de vacances auprès de Maasaï et cette expérience restera à jamais gravée en nous. Leur accueil, leur gentillesse, leur chant, leur danse, leur tradition… nous ont permis une déconnexion totale dès notre arrivée. Les maisonnettes typiques offrent le confort occidental, les repas sont excellents et le cadre époustouflant, avec vue sur le Kilimandjaro et le Mont Meru. Les enfants, tout comme les adultes, ont apprécié ce partage de culture. Nous avons vécu de fortes émotions auprès de Maasaï, merci!!

I loved everything about this place and its people. They are all clearly doing what they love, what gives us an excellent experience. I learnt a lot about maasai and all the projects. You all have my deep respect and admiration.
Service and accommodations are top. Food is so so delicious! Activities were pure joy and the landscape and views are stunning! Asante sana! Tuonane tena!
