With so few tourist attractions, it's often advisable to spend only half a day in the capital. However, to feel its energy and atmosphere, a full day is necessary. Venture into the shopping streets of Downtown, or climb up to the citadel at sunset and admire the view over the hills as you listen to the muezzin sing. As well as its historical aspect, the capital is constantly reinventing itself. While the lower town has undergone an urban redevelopment, the "bobo" establishments of Rainbow Street have modernized Amman. Here you'll find trendy bars and cafés, as well as an art gallery converted into a restaurant. The rapidly developing Abdali district is home to luxury hotels, brand names and offices, and is the pride of Amman. Although Amman is often only a stopover for tourists between excursions, it is well worth discovering.
