SOURP KHATCH ARMENIAN CHURCH

This large church in the city center, the Armenian Apostolic Church, is a must-see because it is at the crossroads of several major directions in Bourgas. It testifies to the importance of the Armenian community in Bourgas when it was first built in 1855. This community grew stronger after the genocide of 1915, when Bulgaria opened its borders to Armenian refugees from the Ottoman Empire. Next to it, there is a memorial to the genocide.
