FESTIVAL DE HASKOVO

An important folklore festival takes place in Kenana Park near Haskovo during the last week of May. The "Thracian tradition" is celebrated and groups and individuals perform in front of spectators who have come to admire the authenticity and diversity of Bulgarian folklore expressions. Unlike some festivals, the groups do not come to compete but each participant receives a gift related to the theme of the festival. All this takes place in the open air in a very Bulgarian atmosphere.
