Located at 1,500 m above sea level, Manastir is the highest village in Bulgaria and the Balkan Peninsula. This charming village is oriented towards tourism, but it is mainly the hiking trails that will attract the visitor. All around Manastir, a large number of forest routes allow access to the surrounding villages, crossing beautiful landscapes in an unspoiled nature. There are some cabins along the way for resting, but most of the proposed excursions are not very long and can usually be done in a day. So you can go there without complicated preparation. Very pleasant!
