Museum featuring superb collections of Neolithic anthropomorphic idols, splendid Thracian treasures and Greek artefacts.
It is the oldest museum in Bulgaria and one of the richest. Entirely renovated in 2010, the building presents superb collections of anthropomorphic idols from the Neolithic period, found near the village of Dolnoslav, splendid Thracian treasures, as well as Greek, Roman, Byzantine and medieval objects, to finish with a mosaic exhibited as is from the synagogue of Plovdiv. A first-rate museum that is a must to visit! For the whole family.
