CHAPEL-MAUSOLEUM OF ST. GORGES (МАВЗОЛЕЯТ)

This building was built to honor the Russian and Romanian soldiers who died during the siege of the city. The chapel-mausoleum of St. George the Victorious symbolizes Pleven's gratitude to its liberators. Inside, in the cross-shaped room, you will discover icons made in the ^19th century as well as three superb wall paintings. In the crypt lie the bones of the soldiers in whose honor the mausoleum was built.
