Mosque built under the reign of Bey Hussein Bou Koumia in Constantine, which welcomed Catholic worship in 1838.
Started in 1703 under the reign of the bey Hussein Bou Koumia, the construction will be completed in 1730. The mosque Souk el-Ghozel is assigned to the Catholic worship in 1838 under the name of Our Lady of the Seven Dolors. It borders the place of the Commander Si Houas and the palace of the bey. Its dome which was enlarged was inspired by the dome of Florence. When the first priest, Father Suchet, was appointed to this parish, the Muslim Constantinians gave him a splendid carved wooden pulpit. Its name comes from the "wool market" which is located nearby.
