LA CASBAH

Nestled on the slopes of the cliff around a small square open to the sea to which one reaches by stairs, the old city preserves some vestiges of the Almohad period which saw its birth along the alleys of its labyrinth. The kasbah was built by the Almohads in the middle of the XIIth century, around 1154. The mosque of the kasbah has seen Ibn Khaldun give courses. That is why a statue of this intellectual of the Arab world now sits at the entrance of the Kasbah, since 2019, just in front of the main door.
