This koubba (a monument built on the tomb of a marabout), or mausoleum, was built at the beginning of the 15th century by one of the many disciples of the saint Abd el Kader el Djilani. He is a patron saint, originally from Baghdad, who spread Sufism in the land of Islam and who was the patron saint of Muslim gunners during their war against the Spaniards who occupied the city. Every year, a festival honors the mausoleum and its history.
