MOSQUES OF M'DINA JDIDA

It is in the district of M'dina Jdida that we find the most mosques, most were built in the late nineteenth century or early twentieth century because it was the main Muslim district during the French period.

Among the most famous are the mosques Cherifia, Bennacef, Alaouia, Teyeb el M'hadji, Madrassat le Falah or the mosque Cheikh Benkabou. In the latter are the tombs of Sheikh Benkabou and the Caida H'lima who financed the construction of the mosque in the 1920s.
