MOHAMED EL KEBIR MOSQUE

It is one of the oldest mosques in Oran because it was built in 1791 by the Bey Mohamed el Kebir. Because of its location, not far from the sea front in the east of the city, enclosed between buildings, it was almost destroyed several times. After various military uses, it was returned to worship in 1893 and registered as a historical monument, which allowed the conservation of the building with its hieratic minaret. It was restored for the first time in 1930 and several times in the last few years, which modified its original appearance
