WAR MUSEUM OF 23 AUGUST

As a tribute to the bombings of 23 August 1958 and the 587 soldiers who died, a park museum was built in 1988 in the town of Jinhu, in the west of the island. A sound & light exhibition tries to transcribe the horror of the bombings: a rather successful experiment. Outside, tanks, artillery pieces and old fighter planes are on display. Inside, a collection of uniforms, weapons and equipment will interest lovers of military equipment.
