XIAOLIUQIU SANLONG TEMPLE

Located inland, a few kilometres south of Baishawei, this temple, which worships three kings of Chinese mythology, hosts numerous religious festivities and bears witness to the important spiritual life of the island's inhabitants. Although construction began at the end of the 18th century, the current building dates from the 1930s and was renovated in 1989. So the whole thing is pretty new, with a little touch of kitsch that is not unpleasant.
