BIYUN TEMPLE AND BAMBOO TRAIL

Located on the heights of the port of Dafu, right in the center of the island, this temple is one of the most famous of Little Liuqiu. Legend has it that a fisherman named Tianshen, who lived during the reign of Emperor Yongzheng (1723-1735), had an apparition of the goddess Guanyin one evening. She ordered him to build a temple. Although Tianshen gave his land to build the holy place, the present temple dates back to 1936. The bamboo path, just opposite, offers a pleasant walk.
