Carriers only cover South-East Asia and now China. Kaohsiung can be quite the end of a trip to Taiwan combined with a stay in Hong Kong.

The best way to get to the city centre is the MRT, which takes you directly into the city. Buses also leave the airport every 12 minutes (NT$15). A taxi costs about NT$200 to reach the city centre. You can also rent a car at the airport.
