Right at the entrance to the park, a short walk from the train station, Alishan Catholic Church offers the cheapest accommodation option in Alishan. Of course, this is not the great luxury: dormitories with Spartan decoration and bunk beds with shared bathrooms. That said, the prices defy all competition and the mission is literally in the heart of the village. It will also be an opportunity to meet other travellers from across the country and beyond.
