On Fulong beach, in the north-east of the island, an international sand sculpture competition is held every year

It is an opportunity to see the most talented artists at work, and to dream of sand castles again. It is an international competition composed of sculptors from all over the world. Fulong beach, nicknamed "Golden Beach", is very famous for its sand of a singular quality. Thanks to its composition made of quartz, it becomes malleable and adheres perfectly when mixed with water. The sculptures represent various themes according to the editions.
