During the Sino-French War from 1883 to 1885, 500 French sailors died in Keelung, and were buried in the town itself. Today, the bodies have been repatriated to France with the exception of two officers who remained in the Taiwanese city. The place is not very interesting, especially because of the port facilities, but a patriotic impulse might well tickle you... The small wall surrounding it has recently been repainted in blue-white-red.
