An interesting museum dedicated to the 10 tribal peoples of the north of the country, displaying ceremonial costumes, craft tools...

This interesting but relatively unattended museum, nicknamed the Tribal Museum, is dedicated to the 10 tribal peoples of the north of the country: the H'mong, Karen, Mien, Akha, Lisu, Lahu, Lua, Thin, Khamu and Mla Bree. On three floors are displayed numerous ceremonial costumes, handcrafted tools, various jewellery and ornaments as well as musical instruments. All this is classified by membership in the various tribes that represent more than 10% of the province's population.

Situé au centre de Chiang mai, dans l'ancien palais de justice, le bâtiment est vraiment très beau, les expositions comportent de nombreuses explications en anglais sur la région et les traditions, l'entrée est toutefois payante 90baths. Comptez environ une heure pour faire toutes les salles

Un des meilleurs musée de Thaïlande après celui de Siam à Bangkok.
