Located some twenty kilometers north of Ayutthaya, this town is best known for its royal palace, also known as the Summer Palace. Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, Bang Pa In is a stop on the itinerary of many Bangkok tour operators. You can reach Bang Pa-In from Bangkok by river shuttle, with The Chao Phraya Express Boat for example, a Sunday excursion with a few stops along the way.
