Little blue train travels over the 63-meter-high Polvorilla viaduct from San Antonio de los Cobres.
Unfortunately, the Tren a las Nubes is no longer as majestic as it once was. It's only a short distance from San Antonio de los Cobres, which you reach by bus from Salta (you can drive yourself if you have a car). The journey, while truly magnificent, is marred by the "mass tourism" created by the six crowded buses that follow one another to reach San Antonio de los Cobres. Nevertheless, it's a lovely attraction, especially the Polvorilla viaduct, where you'll be suspended 63 m high in the little blue train.

Expect to pay between US$111 and US$167 for the whole day (departure from Salta by bus, then train and return by bus).

The Train to the Clouds tour includes a departure from the city of Salta, following the RN 51 to the towns of Campo Quijano and Gobernador Solá until El Alfarcito, where a country breakfast is planned with local products prepared by the communities in the area. There is an operational center of the Alfarcito Foundation, whose work reaches 25 communities in the area and the Albergue de Montaña school, which accommodates 154 children and with an orientation in tourism.
