These oceanfront ruins are the home of the island's first British governor, Sir Frederick North, who oversaw pearl fishing in the region between 1798 and 1805. Built in 1804 in the Doric style of Greek architecture, the dilapidated stonework still reveals the arches and windows that afforded panoramic views of the ocean. The first floor comprised four small bedrooms, while the second floor housed a large dining room and the governor's apartments.
