ROYAL BAR & HOTEL

A completely unsuspected treasure in the heart of Kandy's effervescence! Built at the beginning of the 19th century as a residential house for the upper class, the building became the first bar of the city and the den of the British officers. Today, the former Arrack's Tavern on the first floor serves snacks, coffees, draught beers, and a full range of spirits. The rooms, perfectly restored, welcome a handful of privileged guests who have taken the trouble to reserve in advance. The building is classified as a city heritage site.
