Lakpahana defines itself as the home of Sri Lankan handicrafts. This traditional gift and souvenir shop is very popular with travellers because of the quality of its items: elephants, wooden statuettes and masks, sarongs, various trinkets and a bookshop. Several other shops are located on the same site and form a complex sometimes called Lakpahana Grounds, to be distinguished from the Racecourse Shopping Complex opposite
